CMM Training

Whether it be a one day refresher or a full training course we can advise as to the most suitable for your need.

Pcdmis and Tutor for Windows are the most popular but should you require any of those previously mentioned please contact me. If the experienced operator of legacy software leaves, it temporarily causes a major problem. This is, until the software is shown to another in a manner, which is understood, or the CMM is retrofitted with current software.

Legacy software training courses can be arranged for the following measuring software packages;

  • CEJ - Basic301, Learn311, Flexylearn
  • DEA - Chorus
  • B&S - MM4, MM3, Reflex
  • OGP - Vidicom
  • Mahr - Vision 3D

Training is tailored to suit the customer need. Basic training is usually a fixed itinerary and covers a set number of days. The number of which is course dependent. Where a new operator needs to know the following:

  • Basic CMM operation
  • How to create a probe file
  • How to create an alignment
  • Feature Measurement and Construction
  • Dimensions
  • Reporting
  • Creation of a program to enable a repeat measurement of a similar part without the hard work.

Advanced training where a more complex solution to a current measuring problem is required. This can be discussed with the customer and a suitable bespoke course suggested.

Training can be done at your factory or, if you prefer, at either of two sites in the UK. Telford or Milton Keynes.

The benefit of on site (factory) training is as follows:

  • The training is done on the actual CMM to be used.
  • Training can be part specific, using the same parts to be measured subsequent to the training course. There is much to be said for this. When the parts are unfamiliar, as on a general training course. The trainees are easily able to measure the demonstration part used for the training. However, when confronted with the production parts it is not always easy to transfer that knowledge.
  • No lost days due to travelling to the training centre.
  • No hotel and subsistence cost.
  • Programs created during the training course can be used for the inspection of parts.
The benefit of off site (training centre) training:
  • The environment is much quieter and more conducive to learning.
  • There are no interruptions.
